DAC8551AQDGKRQ1 is an AEC-Q100 qualified 16-bit, single-channel, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Texas Instruments. The device is part of the DACx551-Q1 family, which includes the 16-bit DAC8551-Q1 and the 12-bit DAC6551-Q1, both qualified for automotive applications.
The DAC8551AQDGKRQ1 provides good linearity with ±4 LSB INL and minimizes undesired code-to-code transient voltages with an ultralow glitch impulse of 0.1nV-s. The device uses a versatile 3-wire serial interface that operates at clock rates up to 30MHz and is compatible with standard SPI, QSPI, Microwire, and digital signal processor (DSP) interfaces. The device requires an external reference voltage to set the output range.
The DAC8551AQDGKRQ1 incorporates a power-on-reset circuit that ensures the DAC output powers up at 0V and remains there until a valid write to the device takes place. The device contains a power-down feature, accessed over the serial interface, that reduces current consumption to 800nA at 5V. Power consumption is only 800µW at 5V, reducing to less than 4µW in power-down mode. The device is available in an 8-pin VSSOP package (DGK) with a 3.00mm × 3.00mm body size, rated for operation from –40°C to +125°C. The device is RoHS compliant (ROHS3), REACH unaffected, and in active production.
16-Bit Ultralow-Glitch DAC 0.1nV-s glitch impulse, 8µs settling time to ±0.003% FSR, and ±4 LSB INL for precision automotive applications.
AEC-Q100 Qualified Device temperature grade 1: –40°C to 125°C, HBM ESD classification level 2, and CDM ESD classification level C4B for automotive applications.
MicroPower Operation 160µA quiescent current at 5V, 800µW power consumption, reducing to 800nA in power-down mode for battery-powered systems.
