LTC2943CDD#TRPBF is a multicell battery gas gauge from Analog Devices (formerly Linear Technology) with integrated temperature, voltage and current measurement capabilities.[reference:0][reference:1] The device measures battery charge state, battery voltage, battery current and its own temperature in portable product applications.[reference:2][reference:3]

The LTC2943CDD#TRPBF operates with a wide input voltage range of 3.6V to 20V, allowing use with multicell batteries.[reference:4][reference:5] A precision coulomb counter integrates current through a sense resistor between the battery's positive terminal and the load or charger.[reference:6][reference:7] Voltage, current and temperature are measured with an internal 14-bit No Latency ΔΣ™ ADC.[reference:8][reference:9] The measurements are stored in internal registers accessible via the onboard I2C/SMBus interface.[reference:10][reference:11]

The LTC2943CDD#TRPBF features programmable high and low thresholds for all four measured quantities. If a programmed threshold is exceeded, the device communicates an alert using either the SMBus alert protocol or by setting a flag in the internal status register.[reference:12][reference:13] The device requires only a single low value sense resistor to set the measured current range.[reference:14] The LTC2943CDD#TRPBF is offered in an 8-lead plastic DFN package with a 3.00mm × 3.00mm footprint and is rated for operation from 0°C to +70°C.[reference:15][reference:16] The device is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NEW DESIGNS (NRND) and is RoHS compliant, REACH unaffected.[reference:17][reference:18][reference:19]
