LT3042HMSE#TRPBF is a high performance low dropout linear regulator from Analog Devices (formerly Linear Technology), featuring ultralow noise and ultrahigh PSRR architecture for powering noise sensitive RF applications. The device is designed as a precision current reference followed by a high performance voltage buffer, and can be easily paralleled to further reduce noise, increase output current and spread heat on the PCB.[reference:0][reference:1]
The LT3042HMSE#TRPBF supplies 200mA at a typical 350mV dropout voltage. Operating quiescent current is nominally 2mA and drops to <<1µA in shutdown. The device features a wide output voltage range (0V to 15V) while maintaining unity-gain operation, providing virtually constant output noise, PSRR, bandwidth and load regulation, independent of the programmed output voltage.[reference:2][reference:3]
The LT3042HMSE#TRPBF is stable with a minimum 4.7µF ceramic output capacitor. Built-in protection includes reverse battery protection, reverse current protection, internal current limit with foldback and thermal limit with hysteresis.[reference:4][reference:5] The device is available in a thermally enhanced 10-lead MSOP package and is rated for operation from –40°C to +150°C as an H-Grade device.[reference:6][reference:7] The LT3042 is Recommended for New Designs and is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.[reference:8][reference:9]
Ultralow Noise 0.8µVRMS output noise (10Hz–100kHz) and 2nV/√Hz spot noise at 10kHz for noise-sensitive RF applications.[reference:10]
Ultrahigh PSRR 79dB at 1MHz provides excellent rejection of power-supply ripple and switching converter noise.[reference:11][reference:12]
H-Grade High Temperature Range Extended –40°C to +150°C operating range for demanding high-temperature applications.[reference:13]
